Complete Eye Exams
Complete eye exams are performed to detect eye disease ideally before the patient becomes symptomatic. Some conditions such as glaucoma and macular degeneration have no symptoms in the early stages. If the disease is diagnosed only after the patient notices problems, the vision often cannot be saved. Systemic diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and increased intracranial pressure are sometimes first diagnosed on a complete eye exam. We also measure the eyeglass prescription during these exams and recommend the best type of eyeglasses to fit the patient’s needs.
